Wheelie Fantastic offered exactly what we needed for a supported and problem-free cycle tour of Mapua and Nelson. Nicky was friendly, knowledgeable, punctual and professional. The bikes were in great condition and cycling was absolutely the best way to experience this beautiful area. The tracks were well sign posted and a good combination of scenic and accessible. We were well supported by the tour guide and maps from Wheelie Fantastic, and Nicky was always just a phone call away. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend this tour company, have booked with them twice now. We spent 4 days on the GTT and it was perfect. Nicky was very friendly, always on time and offered a lot of great advice about the trail itself, food options and the region in general. Our accommodation was also great.
The name Wheelie Fantastic is fitting as it is truly fantastic! Lisa picked us up promptly at our hotel in Nelson. We knew immediately upon meeting Lisa that we were going to have a good day. Her gentle, good nature made us feel welcomed and relaxed. It was great to learn how Lisa came to live in NZ and started a business. Upon arriving to retrieve the bicycles we met Nikki who is equally warm and charming. It was nice to get to know more about life in NZ.The e-bikes are in good condition and Lisa did a nice job explaining the days activities. Our ride was very enjoyable and easy riding along country roads with beautiful vista views around us. Our trip included two visits to wineries and our free flowing conversation continued with Lisa as we had an enjoyable lunch together. Towards the end of our lunch it started raining and Nikki came to the rescue to pick us up in the van. Our day continued with a nice stop at Marapo to visit some Artisan shops. The cycling on the Great Taste Trail took longer than expected, we had to keep stopping to take pictures. The cycling was good and Wheelie Fantastic did a fantastic job of bringing it together for us, they were friendly and helpful from the first contact. I am happy to recommend them.
This was our first cycling trip and we were so happy that we chose Wheelie Fantastic Tours! Nicky was so helpful and accommodating with getting us, and our luggage to each accommodation stop, and making sure we had a heads up on the weather and great places to see and rest break areas. The accommodation hosts were fantastic! We got to see and experience so many things by cycling on the GTT. Loved it!!
What fun !! As a ‘mature’ couple who haven’t ridden a bike since childhood, we were a little apprehensive about what was to come. We needn’t have worried ! Nicky our guide, was great , friendly and charming and geared (lol) our days riding to our ability and experience. The route was tailored specifically for us and the e bikes made it extremely easy. The weather that day was beautiful and the scenery stunning. Don’t hesitate to book , we had THE BEST DAY.

Our cycling trip along New Zealand's Great Taste Trail was truly unforgettable. From start to finish the service from Nicky and her team was exceptional - friendly and professional. When rain put a spanner in the works for our first day, Nicky was quick to come up with Plan B and the rest of our trip went off without a hitch.The route itself is breathtaking, a mixture of coastal views, lush vineyards and orchards, stunning Autumn colours, rolling hills and crystal clear rivers.We can't recommend Nicky and Wheelie Fantastic Cycle Tours highly enough for anyone wanting to explore the top of the South Island by bike.

Our 6 day Great Taste Trail Ride organised by Wheely Fantastic was truly superb. Absolutely no detail was overlooked. Their planning and organisation is meticulous. Plenty and accurate tour notes and maps are provided so you know what to expect each day and how to prepare and these also include lots of of suggestions for food stops and points of interest along the way. Nicky checked in each night to see how we were travelling and to make sure we had everything we needed and she was only ever a phone call away should anything happen, so we felt very well supported along the way. So many options for shortening the trail in case you need to, but truly you don’t want to miss any part of this spectacular, ever changing ride. The landscape, the suspension bridges, the very long and dark tunnel, the scenery, the beaches, the mountains, the rivers, every corner we turned provided a new and impressive vista. The accomodation each night was super special and an experience in itself. The e-bikes and equipment provided were top quality, in great condition and spotlessly clean when we received them. I could not recommend this company highly enough. There wasn’t anything else we could possibly ask for and I enjoyed the friendly and personal service we got from the minute I made our first inquiry to our very last meeting when the bikes and equipment were collected.

“3 days, 100 odd kms (give or take), a few hills thrown in for good measure and stunning scenery. So much on offer here. Vineyards, views, mountain bike trails, leisurely trails, old pubs. My e-bike was fabulous. Power assist to help my pathetic legs up all those hills. Yet allowed me to enjoy my cycling. Wheelie Fantastic were really fantastic. Would highly recommend.”
