Tasman Explorer – A multi activity holiday
A multi activity holiday as well as a cycling holiday on The Great Taste Trail
Make the most of your cycling adventure and include some other highlights of the area into your Nelson cycle tour
As there are other activities close to the trail it is easy to turn a purely cycling tour into a multi-activity holiday. We can create a bespoke multi-activity holiday for you and your friends and family. You can choose to cycle all of the Great Taste Trail and add in additional days of non-cycling activities, or just ride a couple of the trail segments with other days free to do other things. We also know some lovely country routes on gravel roads, if you would like to add that to your cycling adventure. Our gravel routes can be tailored to suit to type of gravel riding you enjoy. We have extensive local knowledge that will get you to off the beaten path locations and yet never too far from a coffee stop!
What other activities could you add to your holiday?
The most popular non-cycling activity would be a trip into The Abel Tasman National Park. There are so many options, ranging from a half-day of kayaking or walking to all-inclusive lodge-based multi-day trips. A three-day two-night trip into the park is a great way to compliment a Great Taste Trail cycle tour.
If you are pressed for time and can’t spend more than a day in the park, there are a good variety of options.
For a group of more than six people who want to have a special day, a private boat charter is a memorable way of seeing this amazing environment.
For families with younger children, Waka Abel Tasman allows everyone to participate in some gentle paddling. There are many kayaking options with a trip to suit everyone’s kayaking skills. Canyoning is another activity in the park for those with a need for an adrenalin rush.
