Exclusive Luxury Tours

Combine The Best Of Both Worlds By Staying In Luxury Accommodation While Enjoying A Bespoke Cycle Tour.

Civilized Cycling Adventures & Luxury Lodges -
the perfect combination

The Great Taste Cycle Trail

The Great Taste cycle trail and the Nelson Tasman area can be explored when staying at one of the luxury lodges, using it as a ‘hub and spoke’ style tour. Alternatively  by staying in more than one location, you can enjoy the different cuisines and warm welcomes offered by each lodge.

Te Koi the Lodge at Bronte  (Boutique Hotel Awards multiple winner 2019) has a tranquil coastal location and is also a short distance from the trail. It offers the perfect ‘hub’ to explore the region from. Your Nelson cycling adventure  on The Great Taste Trail can be more than just a bit civilised with luxury lodges adding to your cycling experience.

If you are a couple seeking a luxury self-catered hideaway, then Clifftops Retreat or Ruby Bay Sea View Cottage are both close to the cycle trail and only a 5 minute drive from the vibrant coastal village of Mapua.

Earned Indulgence

The luxurious surroundings, the exceptional cuisine offered by the lodges,  make them  wonderful locations to return to after your day’s cycling. Why not make a lodge your exclusive base? With as few as 6 people, you could have sole occupancy for you and your friends

Authentic Landscapes and Welcoming Locals

The area has so much to offer and cycling is the perfect way to experience the landscape and the locals. We are fortunate to be in an area where  talented artisans choose to live and work. They  offer a warm welcome when you visit their studios, galleries and cellar doors.

Multi-Activity Options

A multi-day tour could involve cycling every day or some days could include alternative activities. We are happy to offer or arrange heli-tours, private boat charters with kayaking or walking in Abel Tsman National Park, eco-tours, vehicle based winery and art tours or vehicle based tours specific to your interests. If you would like to cycle a bit further from base, then a heli-cycle makes it really easy to explore the Marlborough Sounds or Golden Bay

Multi-activity Day Tours

Our heli-cycle day tours, using Helicopters Nelson, allow you to enjoy civilised adventures in different locations.

When a helicopter flight is included it means we can get to places that are on routes less travelled.

We carefully select locations that allow you to experience tranquil settings in majestic surroundings, yet you don’t need to cycle for long distances and our routes are not on mountain bike trails.

It is also a very time efficient way to explore places like Golden Bay, Marlborough Sounds or Kahurangi National Park.

Motueka River Valley

Tasman Bay Heli Cycle Experience

A wonderful combination of easy cycling and a scenic tour of Tasman Bay from above.
The tour allows you to view Tasman Bay and surrounds by air, then soak up the tranquility of the landscape with a bike ride, followed by lunch at Mapua Village.

Depart Nelson mid-morning for a stunning scenic flight with Helicopters Nelson overflying Tasman Bay and west into the Kahurangi National Park for a mountain top landing at 5000 feet above sea level (weather permitting).

Descend of the mountain with contrasting views back to the East before landing at a quiet location where you and your cycle guide start the cycle route. After lunch you will have time to browse the galleries and shops at Mapua wharf, or enjoy a gourmet ice-cream before you are transferred back to the heli base.

Marlborough Sounds Heli Cycle Experience

This is the perfect way to experience the Marlborough Sounds, when based in the Nelson area.

The tour allows you to view the Sounds and its breathtaking beauty by air, then soak up the tranquility of the landscape with a moderately challenging bike ride, followed by lunch at a local lodge.

Fly to Kenepuru Sound and along the way, take in the views, with a mountain top landing in the Mt Richmond Forest Park (weather permitting). Continue to a quiet location where you and your cycle guide start the cycle route.

A carefully selected part of Kenepuru Sound provides a 15km section of an undulating backroad with a mix of sealed and unsealed surfaces. Along the way there are changing vistas around every corner to enjoy.

This is a civilised adventure, so at the end of our cycle route we transfer to a local Lodge for lunch. Savour locally sourced ingredients and Marlborough wine. Relax at the lodge’s waterfront location before your return flight to Nelson.

At the end of the bike ride you will being driven a short distance to Stephens Bay, where you will join the luxury charter boat.
Once onboard relax as your skipper guides you through the beautiful scenery of the iconic Abel Tasman National coastline- sharing the stories, ecology and wildlife of the Park on your journey.
